We all love the new style and the unique appearance of the 2015 Jeep Renegade. This popular crossover SUV has been making headlines all over the world and has become a popular choice in new car for drivers across the country. There's no denying that there are differences between the 2015 Jeep Renegade Sport vs 2015 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk, but we are here to highlight them and help you to choose which trim level best suits your needs. Starting with the exterior, there aren't many differences that are easily visible between the two.
The sporty crossover SUV comes with new lines and the classic Jeep front grille. The differences between the two, however, lie just underneath the surface, or the hood! The 1.4-liter I-4 engine in the Sport trim offers 160 horsepower and standard front-wheel drive. While this means that the Sport gets slightly better fuel economy, it also means that driving in tough road conditions might be a little less controlled.
Jeep Renegade Sport | VS | Jeep Renegade Trailhawk |
1.4-Liter I-4 | Engine | 2.4-Liter I-4 |
160 HP | Horsepower | 180 HP |
6-Speed Manual | Transmission | 9-Speed Automatic |
Front-Wheel Drive; No | Off-Roading Capability | Four-Wheel Drive; Yes |
The 2.4-Liter I-4 engine in the Trailhawk puts out 180 horsepower and 4-wheel drive that makes it trail rated for off-roading and gives the driver confidence in their vehicle, even in the worst road conditions. The higher price, however, and slightly lower fuel economy rating makes the Trailhawk a more costly version of a vehicle that is praised for its fantastic handling and performance at both trim levels.
On the inside, the more expensive Trailhawk trim does offer a few more exciting features that are only optional in the Sport trim. The Sport comes with standard seating for up to five passengers and a first-row LCD screen in the control center. Optional Bluetooth connectivity is available for those who like to enjoy media without the hassle of cords, but an auxiliary input offers another option. The Trailhawk however, comes with standard Bluetooth, two first-row LCD screens, a voice activated navigation system and premium cloth seating for up to five passengers. For the extra money, you can have more features and a more sporty feeling vehicle, but the more affordable Sport trim on the Renegade still has lots to offer drivers.
